Dr. Madalynn McDermitt

Veterinarian

Hi, I’m Dr. Madalynn McDermitt!

I'm a proud native of Meriwether County. I graduated from Pike County High School before earning my undergraduate degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from Armstrong Atlantic University in Savannah, Georgia. I then pursued my lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, where I earned my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in May 2019.

After graduation, I began my veterinary career at Family Pet Care in LaGrange, Georgia, where I gained valuable experience working alongside a close friend and colleague. With a desire to return home and serve the community that helped shape me, I later opened Woodbury Animal Clinic in July 2021.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to care for the pets and families of Woodbury and the surrounding communities. Building lasting relationships with my clients and providing compassionate, personalized care for their pets is one of the most rewarding parts of being a veterinarian.

Outside of the clinic, I enjoy fishing, hunting, traveling with my husband, and spending time with family. In March 2026, my husband and I welcomed our son, River, and we are enjoying this special new chapter as a family.

I’m incredibly grateful for the trust and support our clients have shown Woodbury Animal Clinic and look forward to caring for their beloved pets for many years to come.

Landy Bishop (2021)

Office Manager

Hi, I’m Landy!

I began my career in veterinary medicine in 1988 after graduating high school in Vero Beach, Florida. I spent several years working in the veterinary field before joining the Clerk of the Circuit Court in Okeechobee County, Florida, where I spent 13 years clerking court hearings and trials. After moving to Georgia, I spent eight years working with a local catering business before returning to veterinary medicine, where I’m proud to continue doing what I love.

I’m proud to have been part of the original team when Woodbury Animal Clinic opened its doors in July 2021, and I’m grateful to continue being part of the clinic’s journey today. I currently serve as the Office Manager, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the clinic while supporting our team, patients, and clients. I remain actively involved in keeping things running smoothly and helping ensure our clients and their pets receive the best possible care.

I’m married, and we share our home with our two fur babies, Yote and Gypzy. Outside of work, I enjoy hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors, and traveling to Florida to spend time with our grandbabies.

Maddie

Madison Jones (2022)

Vet Tech Assistant

Hi, I’m Madison!

I joined the Woodbury Animal Clinic family in November 2022. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to grow within the clinic, progressing from kennel technician to receptionist and now veterinary technician assistant.

I have two fur babies, Miller and Mo, who keep my life fun and full. When I’m not at the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my family and pups, being outdoors, and hunting.

I’m passionate about pet health care and helping clients make informed decisions through education. I especially enjoy discussing vaccines and year-round heartworm, flea, and tick prevention. I’m also grateful to provide compassion, guidance, and support to families during some of the most difficult moments of pet ownership as they make decisions about their pet’s care and quality of life.

Client Services

Hi, I’m Whitney!

I’m a Pike County native and still call the area home, where I live with my husband, children, and our pets, Gus and Poppi. I graduated from Pike County High School in 2009 and have always had a deep passion for caring for animals.

I’m proud to have been part of the original team when Woodbury Animal Clinic opened its doors in 2021. I stepped away for a short time to welcome a new addition to our family and was happy to return to the Woodbury team in 2025. I’m grateful to continue being part of the clinic’s journey and proud to work alongside such a knowledgeable and caring team. I enjoy being one of the smiling faces ready to welcome and assist every client who walks through our doors.

Alyssa

Alyssa Hand (2023 / 2026)

Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)

Hi, I’m Alyssa!

I began my career in veterinary medicine as a veterinary assistant shortly after high school, pursuing my lifelong dream of caring for animals. I decided to further my education and completed my Veterinary Technician degree through Penn Foster, graduating in April 2026. I then passed the VTNE and became a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT).

I first joined Woodbury Animal Clinic in 2023 before leaving to gain additional experience in large and mixed animal medicine. After gaining additional experience, I was excited to return to Woodbury in late summer 2026. I especially enjoy hands-on patient care and helping pets feel as comfortable as possible during their visits.

I’m married, and my husband and I have one son who is our pride and joy. We also have my childhood dog, Zanna, and our cat, Floki. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

Paco

Paco (2021)

Mascot

Meet Paco 🐾 — Dr. Madalynn’s four-legged sidekick!

Paco is an older rescue who was saved from the streets by Dr. Madalynn in 2021, and these days, he’s living the good life with his family. He loves licking the fish his parents catch, tracking deer like a pro, and—most importantly—eating cheese.

He may be a little older, but he’s wise, curious, and full of love. In March 2026, Paco was promoted to big brother when his family welcomed baby River! He’s already looking forward to having a future fishing buddy and teaching him all the important things in life—especially that cheese is always a good idea. 🐾

Mo

MoMo (2025)

Noise Maker

Meet MoMo! 🐾

MoMo’s journey began in early 2025 when he was sadly left in a PetSmart parking lot—but that unexpected twist of fate led him straight to his mom at Woodbury Animal Clinic. Now, he has a loving home, a built-in best friend and brother named Miller, and even gets to spend his days at work with his mommy.

You’ll probably hear MoMo before you see him—he takes his job as an enthusiastic clinic greeter very seriously! He may greet you with a few loud barks at first, but that’s just MoMo’s way of saying he’s excited (and maybe a little nervous) to meet you. Once he gets to know you, his sweet personality quickly shines through. 🐾
